Fun Tennis Wreath and Shadow Box

This tennis racquet wreath was featured on virginiasweetpea.com on the July 12, 2011 post she gives exact directions on how to make a tennis racquet wreath! The color combinations are endless. I think a Christmas tennis wreath would be so fun to have on the door to of the tennis club!

This shadow box can be purchased on somethingsporty.com. They also sell sports themed candy. But I think that it would be fun to make your own tennis shadow box with photos, ticket stubs, an old racquet, tennis balls, score cards, etc. So start saving and gathering up your tennis memorabilia.

Christmas Ideas with Tennis Balls

This Santa head is made from a tennis ball. There was not a website with instructions to make this Santa  but I am sure that it would be easy to figure out. Looks like you would just need felt, glue and yarn to make the pom pom. It would be nice to recycle your tennis balls for the Christmas holiday!

This photo is from Dailydanny.com.  It is Danny Seo's blog and he is an expert in "green living." Reuse, repurpose and recycle.

They took tennis balls and some pins, beads and sequins and decorated the tennis ball using straight pins to apply the beads and sequins. Don't the beaded tennis balls look fantastic? What a great holiday centerpiece!

Tennis Miscellaneous

This is a great water bottle for the gym or tennis court. It has an opening on the side that holds personal things - keys, money, drivers license etc. You can purchase this on Amazon.com. I think that this would be a wonderful Christmas gift.

I love this tennis ball yellow dress. You can purchase the dress from the us.asos.com website. It has a scoop neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. I think the gathered drape in the front would be really flattering. It was originally $63.63 but it now on sale for $27.27.

These tennis ball stickers can be purchased from the Etsy shop TheGreenGrassGrows. For 15 custom tennis ball stickers or address labels the cost is $5.50 plus $1.50 in shipping anywhere in the United States.  This shop also makes tennis cupcake tennis toppers and goody bags.

This adorable tennis outfit fits all American Girl dolls. Just go onto the American Girl Doll website and the outfit for your doll is $34.  My daughter loved American Girl Dolls and we went to the American Girl Doll Place in Chicago twice and it is one of my fondest Mother/Daughter memories.

Fun Tennis Items

Don't you just love the chalkboard tennis racquet? This would be a really easy DIY project. They sell chalkboard paint practically everywhere. Then you could use the chalkboard racquet to keep track of your matches and scores. It would even be cute in a kitchen to write your grocery list.

I love these tennis cake balls. I think I will try to make them after the holidays. However, if you would like to buy them you can order them from SatisfyingSweets.com. A dozen tennis cake pops is $18 plus shipping. The cake pops are covered in sugar so that the cake balls look fuzzy like actual tennis balls.

Napkin Ring Store in Tennis Ball Can

I thought this was a fabulous idea.  Because tennis cans are clear you can see your napkin rings and you will always be able to coordinate your napkins and napkin rings.

I found this inventive idea on Ritsmay-days.blogspot.com on the September 15, 2010 post. Check it out!

Another Wimbledon Tea (Because I am Obsessed)

This Wimbledon afternoon tea is at the Dorchester Hotel. And once again I found this tea on Glam.UK.com.

Check out the Citrus Court and the Coconut Smash Tennis Ball. This tea is served with a glass of champagne and accompanied with the trational strawberries and cream, scones and finger sandwiches.

I am thinking about making my own Wimbledon tea this year. I already have so many ideas!

I am Obsessed with Wimbledon

Anyone who has been reading my blog - knows that I am obsessed with Wimbledon. I can't help it - something about the grass, white tennis clothes and strawberries and cream.

I have actually been to the U.S. Open and I was lucky enough to attend the second week - so I saw the quarterfinal, semifinal and final matches. The U.S. Open is spectacular and I thoroughly enjoyed it! There is nothing like a New York crowd at a sporting event! But I really want to go to Wimbledon.

The above photo is from the glam.co.uk website and it is a photo of an afternoon tea Wimbledon style at the Royal Horseguard Hotel in Whitehall. The tea includes homemade tennis ball truffles filled with champagne jelly, strawberry or mint ganache. They also have Wimbledon logo cupcakes, fresh cream, strawberries and scones. All of tea treats are served with a pot of traditional English tea.

This tea is only available during the tournament.  At the bottom of the post you can click on other hotel Wimbledon teas and they are also amazing. When I go to Wimbledon I am definitely going to a Wimbledon tea.

Tennis Ball Limoges Box and Evening Bag

I found this tennis ball Limoge trinket box on Etsy.  The shop is "Temple of Vintage." The cost is $24 plus shipping. This would be a nice item to keep on your dresser with a special piece of jewelry inside.

Isn't this a lovely Swarovski crystal evening bag? It is on the www.Kaboodle.com website. It was originally $995 but on the Madisonavemall.com it is on sale for $599. This evening bag also has an optional gold chain strap. This crystal tennis ball evening bag would really add whimsy to your LBD and would also be a great conversation item.

Funky Tennis Wall and Haircut

These gigantic racquets are from the High Camp Home website. The oversize tennis racquets are an exact replica of antique wooden racquets. They are made of elm, leather and snares of rope. The dimensions are 54" high x18.5" wide and 3" deep. The cost is $986.70 each. But what a statement they make in this hallway!

Okay - this guy must be a real tennis fan! I wonder what his hair looks like when his face isn't painted yellow? This haircut can be found on menshairstyles.net.

Designer and I Mean Designer Tennis Gear!

I adore this Chanel tennis racquet! It also comes in black. But I am loving the white! I could use this racquet when I play my fantasy match at Wimbledon. Okay - just google Chanel tennis racquet and the website says tennis racquets will soon be available at Chanel boutiques worldwide. I think I will pop in a Chanel boutique this week.

I found the above outfit on Life in a Venti Cup. Lacoste is introducing a collection with Catherine Molandrino.  I  love the gray and white - so classy. I also love the white sunglasses and headband. Although my headband would probably only look cute for a game or two - my hair gets really messy when I play tennis. Sometimes I use the the ladies room between sets and then I look in the mirror and I think WHAT happened to my hair?

Baseball Quote that Applies to Tennis

In honor of the first game of the World Series tonight I have a baseball quote that applies to tennis!

Tennis Animals!

Isn't this the funniest picture?  It is on the blog "Stick a Monkey in it." The blogger actually wrote three paragraphs on the above photo. And quoted William Shakespeare and his love of monkeys. Who knew?

This photo is also a riot! It is actually a birthday card that you can purchase  for $2.75 from the website dogstuff.com. Inside the card it says "The older you get the more you like to do things just because you can. Happy Birthday! This card would be cute to give to your coach or partner!

Tennis Book, DVD and Bookends

Andre Agassi's book was a great read! He is one of the most beloved tennis players of all time. This autobiography talks about his lonely times, the intense childhood training program and when he turned pro at sixteen how he decided to rebel by dying his hair, piercing his ear and dressing like a rocker. He talks about his struggles on the court despite his raw talent. We learn about his marriage and divorce from Brooke Shields. He talks about his soul mate and love of his life Steffi Graf. This book will captivate readers even if they know nothing about tennis.

This DVD helps your tennis game by creating increased flexibility. It can help you move better. Recreational tennis players often forget to stretch. And stretching can help decrease injuries.

The Andre Agassi Book and Tennis DVD are both available on Amazon.

And here are the cutest tennis bookends. They look like they are made of gold but they are actually brass  and available on Etsy.

Tennis Bracelets

This is my favorite tennis bracelet. It is from Tiffany and the actual title is the Tiffany Jazz bracelet. The round brilliant diamonds are set in platinum. And it can be your for the small sum of $17,250.

Many professional tennis players wear jewelry when they play matches - I admire this although I play only wearing small diamond earrings. Necklaces, watches, rings and bracelets bother me when I play tennis. I have enough issues with my tennis game!

Why is a diamond bracelet nicknamed "tennis bracelet?' I mean jewelry is never named after a sport - right?

Chris Evert was playing a tennis match in 1987 and she was wearing an expensive bracelet featuring a string of individually set diamonds. The diamonds were glittering in the sunlight. When the clasp broke she asked the officials to stop the match until the bracelet could be found. Since that day bracelets featuring a row of diamonds have been called tennis bracelets. Tennis players and non-tennis players all wear tennis bracelets. They look fantastic for dressy occasions or with jeans and a t-shirt!

Tennis Ball Can Recycling Idea

Isn't this a unique idea to store your cupcake liners? The can is clear so you can see exactly what colors and patterns that you have when you make cupcakes. I found this idea on the greenbacksgal.com. Rinse out the can with warm soapy water and let dry - remove the label and  fill the container with cupcake liners. Now your cupcake liners will not get squashed!

I am always looking for ideas to recycle tennis balls and cans - let me know if you have any ideas,

This photo is from Ready Made magazine - the article was "Match Point." Go to readymade.com and they show three ways to reuse grounded tennis balls.

Tennis Lollipops

I often make these types of lollipops for baseball and basketball (you can check these out if you want on my other blog roommom27) but today I made some tennis lollipops to pass out during the U.S. Open. But you could make these with your tennis club or school name.

You just need some flat lollipops, yellow paper, a circle cutter, tape, white and black pens.

This is the type of lollipop that you need to use for your base.

Using a circle punch - punch out some yellow circles. If you don't have a circle punch - you can use a round cookie cutter or trace a glass and cut the circles out by hand. I think that my circle punch was around $15 and I used a 40% off coupon from Michael's so it just cost around $8 and I use it all the time for projects.

Using a white paint Sharpie pen I made the white lines.

Using a black pen I wrote the U.S. Open and Penn.

Now I just tape the tennis ball onto the flat lollipop. What could be easier?

Vintage Racquets and Tennis Bag

I found this vintage Gucci tennis bag on the PinkyGuestVintage website. The post is dated all the way back from November 2007. I am going to start looking weekly for a bag like this on Ebay. I just LOVE it.

This adorable bedroom has the cutest tennis racquets over the bed. I think they look fantastic on the wooden wall behind the bed. I found this photo on the dwellerswithoutdecorators.blogspot.com. Notice how these racquets are hung upside down.

This tennis racquet wall art looks like it is in a mud room/entry way. This photo is from designsponge.com.

There are so many areas of your home that can be decorated with vintage tennis racquets.

I Changed My Mind - About my Wimbledon Outfits

I found this Kate Spade tennis bag on the Trendencies.com website. Unfortunately this website is written in Spanish. However, I digress - what I would like to say is that I changed my mind and now when I play at Wimbledon - I will carry this Kate Spade bag.

And I also changed my mind about my Wimbledon tennis dress. This dress can be found on the ralphlauren.com website. The dress was originally $165 but it now on sale for $79 which I think is a really great deal. Don't you agree - that this is a fantastic dress for Wimbledon!

I might wear the above dress to be a spectator at Wimbleton. It can be found on the ellegirl.elle.com website. It is a Tommy Hilfiger dress. Tommy has been making a lot of preppy and country club themed clothes in 2011.

This is another dress idea for Wimbledon spectating. I love the navy color and cuffs. It can be found on the Tibi.com website under the resort 2012 collection.
