Tennis Emergency Kits
I made some Tennis Emergency kit for the ladies on my tennis team.
Each kit contained a hand sanitizer, emery board, Chapstick, sunscreen, hair ties, bandaids, and a granola bar. Some other items you could include mints, mini Advil bottles and laminated tiebreaker rules.
I put all of the items in a cellophane bag and tied the bag with a yellow ribbon.
It just took a few minutes to package everything.
On each cellophane bag I added a little label. And the ladies can keep these little emergency kits in their tennis bags!

Hair Ties for The Tennis Team
These "Good Luck" hair ties are so easy to make! I made them in my tennis teams colors of black and berry. So far we have played three teams with the exact same colors.
For this project you will need:
5/8" fold over elastic
ruler
sharp scissors
card stock
The 5/8 inch fold over elastic is usually sold in fabric stores near the velcro or ribbon section.
Cut the elastic into 8 1/2 or 9-inch strips and fold the elastic in half and tie the ends with a knot.
Slide the hair ties onto a piece of card stock and write a good luck note and add a tennis ball sticker!
It just took me about a half hour to make 8 little cards with team color hair ties.

Food For After the Tennis Match
I don't know about you - but after a long tennis match I am often only hungry for a few bites of something. I never want a big heavy meal. So when it was my turn to bring snacks I made a big platter of pinwheel sandwiches. I made both turkey and roast beef.
To accompany the pinwheels I put a handful of chips into the fold over sandwich bags and tied them with a ribbon.
These little chips bags are perfect with the pinwheels! What do you like to eat after a tennis match?

Tennis Ball Cookies
I made some tennis ball cookies in honor of the French Open. I used my favorite sugar cookie recipe and cut out some large 4 inch circles. Then I used some yellow candy melts, to frost the cookies and sprinkled them with yellow sanding sugar and used a white icing pen to draw the lines.
If you make the tennis ball cookies in a very small size they look cute on top of a cupcake. I am thinking about making ice cream sandwiches with these cookies.
I was sad to see Any Roddick lose in the first round. I would like to see Maria Sharapova win the tournament.

Fun Tennis Wreath and Shadow Box
This tennis racquet wreath was featured on virginiasweetpea.com on the July 12, 2011 post she gives exact directions on how to make a tennis racquet wreath! The color combinations are endless. I think a Christmas tennis wreath would be so fun to have on the door to of the tennis club!

Christmas Ideas with Tennis Balls
This Santa head is made from a tennis ball. There was not a website with instructions to make this Santa but I am sure that it would be easy to figure out. Looks like you would just need felt, glue and yarn to make the pom pom. It would be nice to recycle your tennis balls for the Christmas holiday!
This photo is from Dailydanny.com. It is Danny Seo's blog and he is an expert in "green living." Reuse, repurpose and recycle.
They took tennis balls and some pins, beads and sequins and decorated the tennis ball using straight pins to apply the beads and sequins. Don't the beaded tennis balls look fantastic? What a great holiday centerpiece!
